Two schoolgirls drown in Pirojpur

PIROJPUR, Aug 30 (UNB): Two schoolgirls drowned in a pond at Gouripur village in Bhandaria Upazila Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Sumaiya Akhter, 7, daughter of Abdus Salam, and her cousin Hafiza Akhter, 8, daughter of Abdul Khalek of the village. Both were class II students of Bhandaria MA Khalek Nurani Kindergarten School.
Police said Sumaiya and Hafiza drowned while taking bath in the pond at noon and villagers recovered the bodies around 2.00 pm.
