Two siblings burnt alive in Bandarban

BANDARBAN, July 7 (UNB): Two siblings, including a four-month-old newborn, were burnt to death in a fire that broke out at Kumari in Lama upazila on Monday.
One of the deceased was identified as Sumi Akhter, 4, daughter of Mohammad Ilias of the area, while another was Sumi's newborn brother, who was yet to be named.
Eangsha Union Parishad chairman M Zakir Hossain said the fire originated from a stove of the tin-shed house of Ilias at about 11:00am and it soon engulfed the entire house.
Sumi and her newborn brother, who were inside the house, could not come out when their parents were away from the house.
Later, locals doused the flame and recovered the two charred bodies.
