Two terrorists injured in gunfight with police

CHITTAGONG, Jan 3 (UNB): Two terrorists received bullet wounds in a gunfight with police in Baghgona Debarpar area under city's Kulshi thana early Thursday.
The injured were -- Abdul Gafur alias Kana Bakkar, 32, who was wanted in 33 cases and another terrorist Babul.
Acting on secret information that a gang of terrorists was making preparation to commit robbery police raided their den in the area.
When the terrorists sensing the presence of law enforcers hurled bombs at them the enforcers opened fire, triggering a gunfight at about 1.30 am.
Bakkar and Babul were rushed to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) with bullet injuries.
Officer-in-Charge of Kulshi thana Kazi Shahabuddin Ahmed, ASI Harunur Rashid and constable Abdul Wadud were injured as the terrorists threw bombs at them. They were taken to police hospital.
Kana Bakkar had been released from jail on bail one month ago, police said.
