Two 'terrorists' killed in gunfight with police

Wednesday, 3 October 2007

Two alleged terrorists were killed in a gunfight between their cohorts and police at Sreerampur village in Alamdanga upazila under Chuadanga early Tuesday, reports UNB.
The deceased were identified as Nasir (30) and Edbar (28).
Acting on a tip-off, police cordoned off a gang of 'terrorists' while they were holding a secret meeting at Sreerampur village at about 12:45 am.
Sensing their presence, the terrorists fired shots on the law-enforcers, forcing them to fire back. "Nasir and Edbar were caught in the crossfire, and died on the spot," a police official said.
Their associates, however, managed to flee the scene.
Police recovered two shutter guns and 18 cartridges from the spot. Nasir and Edbar were accused in a number of cases, including murders, the official added.
