Two to die for killing man in Joypurhat

JOYPURHAT, July 26 (BSS): A Joypur court has sentenced two persons to death for killing a man in Khanjanpur area under Sadar upazila of the district in 2008.
Judge of Additional District and Sessions Judge's Court-2 Md Abbas Uddin pronounced the verdict on Wednesday. The court also fined them Tk 10,000 each.
The death convicts are Kafi alias Kafu, son of Kader Bepari, resident of Altaf Nagar village under Dupchanchia upazila of Bogura district and Sadiqul Islam, son of late Shaukat Ali, resident of Panishail village under Atwari upazila of Panchagarh district.
According to case statement, on the night of August 1, 2008, Sabuj Ali (38), son of Altaf Ali, resident of Kochpukuria village under Dupchanchia upazila of Bogura district, was strangled to death by twisting raw jute fibers around his neck by the convicts in Khanjanpur area of Sadar upazila of the district by the accused.
