Two to die in Rusho murder case

The Speedy Trial Tribunal in the city Sunday sentenced two people to death and seven others to life-term imprisonment in the sensational Rusho murder case. The condemned convicts are Abdullah Al Mamun and Siddiqur Rahman, while the lifers are Raju, Mohammad Jamal, M Saiful Islam, Mohammad Ali, Liton, M Abul Hossain and Zakir Sardar. The court also fined all the convicts Tk 50,000 each. According to the prosecution, muggers shot dead Arefin Alam Rusho, a BBA graduate from North South University, in the city's Dhanmondi area on May 24, 2007. —UNB
