Two top terrors killed in RAB, police shootout in Jessore

JESSORE, Sept 03: Two alleged top terrorists were killed in RAB and police shootout at Bhaturia at Chansra on the outskirts of the town early Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Ahsan Kabir Hasan, 45 and his younger brother Mizanur Rahman Mizan, 40, sons of Tafsir Uddin Biswas of Shankarpur in the town. Hasan was an alleged top terror and also leader of Shankarpur smuggler syndicate. His brother was an alleged killer and leader of a robber gang.
RAB said Ahsan Kabir Hasan and Mizanur Rahman, sons of Tafsir Uddin Biswas of Shankarpur in the town were arrested by the RAB from Kazipara in the capital by a team of RAB-6 at around 5am on September 2. The two disclosed information about their arms.
Two specialised team of the RAB led by DAD Shahjahan and DAD Abdur Rahman along with a contingent of police led by Abdul Kader Beg, officer in-charge of Kotwali police station went to a field of village Bhaturia on the outskirts of the town at around 2:35 am on September 3. The law enforcers were attacked by the armed accomplices of the two when they reached near a pond owned by Md Babu at Harinar Beel. The law enforcers also fired back in self defence.
A hundred rounds of gun shots were traded between the law enforcers and the terrors. At one stage the terrorists fled the scene. The law enforcers searched the spot after the gun trade and noticed the bodies of Ahsan Kabir Hasan and Mizanur Rahman Mizan with the help of the villagers. The law enforcers seized three revolvers, 7 shutter guns, one pistol, a gun and 74 rounds of bullets and 12 mobile sim cards from the spot. The bodies were taken to Jessore General Hospital where attending doctors declared them dead.
The RAB added that three RAB and two police men were injured in the gun fight.
Hasan was an accused in 22 cases including 8 murders and three robberies while his brother was an accused in 18 cases including 6 murders.
Locals said Hasan involved himself in terror activities as he was expelled from Jayita Samajtantrik Dal in 1988 for his alleged involvement a robbery incident. Then he founded Shankarpur smuggling syndicate.
