Two UP chairmen nabbed

Two Union Parishad chairmen were arrested by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and police in Sylhet and Magura districts and another was sued for patronising militancy Saturday, reports UNB.
In Sylhet, members of RAB and police in a joint drive arrested Goalbazar Union Parishad chairman along with six firearms and ammunition from his house at Karansi village in Balaganj Upazila early Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off, police and RAB-9 members raided the house of UP Chairman Kaisar Ahmed (50) also upazila BNP assistant general secretary, and recovered three Indian-made revolvers, two pipe-guns, an LG and eight rounds of bullet.
In Magura, police arrested Gangarampur Union Parishad Chairman Aminur Rahman from local Bunaghati market in Shalikha Upazila Saturday nigh.
