UAE postpones execution of 3 BD nationals

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) authorities have postponed the execution of death sentence of three Bangladesh nationals. The death sentences were scheduled to be executed on January 22 in Sharjah, said a Foreign Ministry media release Thursday. The three convicts are: Mohammed Nayeb Ali, Kamrul Islam and Atique Ashraf Hossain, it said. The postponement is to allow time to negotiate with the blood heirs of the victims in order to complete the legal formalities regarding the pardon. — UNB
