UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan phoned Prime Minister (PM) Tarique Rahman on Thursday and discussed the need for immediate halting of the military escalation in the Middle East following attacks on Iran by the United States and Israel, reports UNB.
The UAE President called Tarique Rahman at around 4pm, said Prime Minister's Press Secretary Saleh Shibly.
"Both sides underscored the need for an immediate halt to the military escalation in the region and address its serious implications for regional and global security," he said.
The Press Secretary said the two leaders also affirmed the importance of dialogue and diplomatic efforts in addressing the issues and finding a peaceful solution.
The PM invited the UAE President to visit Bangladesh, and he accepted it, saying he would visit the country some time soon.
