UCB-International Junior Tennis Championship begins

RAJSHAHI, Feb-20: A total of 15 games of Boys and Girls Singles Qualifying round of UCB-International Junior Tennis Championship began at Zafar Imam Tennis complex of Rajshahi Saturday.
Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) AHM Khairuzzaman Liton inaugurated the championship. President of Bangladesh Tennis Federation Shariar Alam MP, DIG Rajshahi Range Mokhlesur Rahman, Police Commissioner RMP Naosher Ali and Deputy Commissoner Rajshahi Shefaul Karim, Chief Executive of Partex group KM Ali were also present, among others. A total of 138 players of 24 countries are participating in the the tournament.
In the Boys Singles round Shun-Hsi Tsai of Taipei defeated Chisti Haider of Bangladesh by 6-0,6-0, Moreover Masum Bari of Bangladesh and Jiayi Li of China entered into the final round by getting walk over at the qualifying round.
On the otherhand, in the girls singles Simran Kaur of India defeated Miyu Hazawa of Japan by 6-3,6-0 sets, Gundip Kaur of India defeated Moumita Jannat of Bangladesh by 6-0,6-0 while Rikit Mooring of Holland defeated Rajbir Kaur of India at 6-2, 6-3 sets.
