Udichi demands reinvestigation in bombing cases

JESSORE, Mar 7: Speakers at a commemorative meeting of Udichi Shilpi Goshthi marking the 12th anniversary of the terror attack on its convention in Jessore which had left 10 people killed and scores injured, demanded fresh investigation in two cases. The speakers voiced their demand on at a commemorative meeting Munshi Meherullah Maidan Sunday afternoon. Chaired by Quamruzzaman Chunnu, former chairman, Jessore Municipality, the meeting was also addressed among others by Abdus Shahid Lal, Rabiul Alam, Pijush Kanti Bhattachariya and Eakram-ud- Daullah. Udichi Shilpi Goshthi and several other socio-cultural organisations chalked up several programmes to mark the day to pay tributes to the victims of the bomb attacks. Ten people were killed and more than 150 were injured when bombs were thrown on a cultural function of Udichi at Munshi Meherullah Maidan in the town on March 7, 1999.
