UGC allocates Tk 2.40b for 35 varsities

University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Prof Dr AK Azad Chowdhury on Saturday said the quality of higher education would improve if universities remain calm and peaceful, session jam free and free from criminalisation of politics. He said tertiary education will be first-rate and world-class if quality education and research would be ensured. The UGC Chairman made the observation while speaking as the chief guest at the third round Academic Innovation Fund (AIF) sub-project contract signing ceremony at UGC auditorium. UGC Member Prof Dr M Muhibur Rahman presided over the ceremony. UGC allocated Tk 2.40 billion for 124 sub-projects of 35 universities under third round, said a press release, according to a news agency.
