UGC chairman lauds environmental awareness tech, systems

The three day course on Clean Technology and Cost Saving (CTCS) jointly organised by University and Industry Alliance (UIA), University of Dhaka and Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS) was held in the city recently.

Eighteen participants from a wide range of companies including Wal Mart, Berger Paint, Bata and Youngone participated in the programme which involved a field visit for practical exposure.

Chairman of University Grants Commission (UGC) Nazrul Islam addressed as the chief guest of the certificate awarding ceremony. He emphasised on the adaptation of CTCS concept in Bangladesh.

Islam lauded the strategic, partnership between UIA and BCAS to promote the environmental awareness technology and systems much needed for the sustainable development of the economy and society.

GM Chowdhury of IBA in his address as the chairperson of the ceremony declared that due to on going demand for training programmes in the field of environment, the centre will soon rerun courses on effluent treatment plants, Health, Safety and Environment and Environmental Impact Assessment.
