UGC to accord reception to researchers

University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh has decided to accord a reception to 21 researchers of the country's public and private universities for their research work, reports BSS.
The research works were published on the disciplines under the faculties of arts, humanities, law, education, social science, physical and biological science, agriculture science and engineering science during 2002-2005 period in the national and international journals, a press release said.
This was decided at a UGC award meeting held yesterday with UGC Chairman Nazrul Islam in the chair.
The researchers to be adorned with UGC Award will get Taka 20,000 each, UGC Crest and Certificate.
It was also decided that adviser for education will distribute the awards in a function.
The date for submission of the applications by the researchers of public and private universities have been extended up to August 30 next for the Award.
UGC members--M Mahbub Ullah, Faisul Islam Farouqui, Sultan Hossain, Tareque Shamsur Rahman and Ehsanul Haque were present at the meeting.
Besides UGC secretary Mohammad Mufakker and Director of Research and publication Md Lutfe Alam were present at the meeting.
