UGC workshop on univs' transparent, dynamic activities begins

A two-day long workshop on 'Annual Performance Agreement (APA) Management System' for making the activities of the country's universities more transparent, dynamic and vibrant began at University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh in the city on Sunday, says a press release.
UGC Chairman Prof Abdul Mannan was present at the opening ceremony asthe chief guest.
He urged all to work accordingly for the sake of country's development. "We want to build result- oriented educational institutions in Bangladesh," he added.
Prof Mannan also said there is no alternative to ensuring good governance and eradicating corruptions. "UGC will show zero tolerance towards corruption," he warned.
UGC members--Professors Dr. Mohammad Yousuf Ali Mollah, Dr Dil Afroza Begum, Dr Md Akhtar Hossain, Additional Secretary of Ministry of Education Dr Md. Khaled, UGC Secretary Md Belayet Hossain Talukder addressed the programme as special guests while UGC member Prof Dr M Shah Nowaz Ali presided over the function. Senior officials from Ministry of Education, Ministry of Cultural Affairs and UGC were the resource persons at the workshop.
