UISCs functioning satisfactorily in Narsingdi

NARSINGDI Oct 31 (BSS): In line with the present government's plan to build Digital Bangladesh, the union information service centers (UISCs) in all the 70 unions of Narsindi district are functioning satisfactorily. The administration has successfully involved all people with the digitization process through the union information centers, upazila web portals and other private sector service providing centers. The Narsingdi people are now getting all information and government services for advancement in the process of building Digital Bangladesh as envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. With the expansion of the ICT facilities throughout the district, the people are easily getting information about agriculture, health, education, legal aid, market situation, human rights and employment. Besides, services like composing, printing, photo copying, scanning and laminating, e-mail, internet browsing, talking to dear and near ones abroad using web cam internet facilities and multimedia projector, filling up passport, visa and DV lottery information form are being provided to the rural people at a nominal price. Upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) is the main coordinator of the USIC in the respective upazila. There is a promoter and also a co-promoter engaged in every UISC. The district administration has taken various programmes, including providing training to the promoter, to run the centers smoothly. Besides, 36 officials of district administration have given training on e-filing, e-mail and UISC blog. Mobile banking service has been introduced in 23 unions of the district with the help of Dutch Bangla Bank.
