UK co to invest $6.058m in Adamjee EPZ

AMCS Textiles Limited, a British company, will set up a specialised garments industry in the Adamjee Export Processing Zone, said a press release.

The 100-per cent foreign-owned company will invest initially US$ 6.058 million (about Tk 43 crore) in setting up their plant and will produce men's and ladies' overcoats, suits and bespoke outerwear.

In this connection, an agreement was signed between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and the AMCS Textiles at BEPZA Complex in the city Thursday.

BEPZA Member (Investment Promotion) Prasanta Bhushan Barua and AMCS Textiles Managing Director Syed Ahmed signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides.

Other officials of BEPZA and the company were present on the occasion.

The company will create an employment opportunity for 1,566 Bangladeshis including 10 foreign nationals.
