UK economy rebounds

LONDON, Oct 12 (AFP): Britain's economic output rebounded in August, powered by the services sector, official data showed Thursday.
Gross domestic product grew 0.2 per cent compared with a contraction of 0.6 per cent in July, the Office for National Statistics said in a statement.
"Our initial estimate suggests GDP grew a little in August, led by strong growth in services which was partially offset by falls in manufacturing and construction," said ONS director of economic statistics Darren Morgan.
