UK envoy calls on CCCI chief

CHITTAGONG, Apr 16: British High Commissioner in Bangladesh Stephen Evans made a courtesy call on President of the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) MA Latif MP Thursday.
They exchanged views on trade and business, economics and investment and other issues of bilateral interest.
The British envoy laid emphasis on investment in the infrastructure development including Chittagong port, railway, roads and highways and river transport.
Mr Latif sought technical and financial support from the European Union (EU), especially the UK in the private sector power plants and express highway and the maritime port.
He also apprised the high commissioner about the automation project of Chittagong Custom House implemented by the CCCI at a cost of Tk 35 million only.
