UK expatriates donate 121,000 pounds for cyclone victims

In response to the appeal for generous contribution for the Cyclone victims of Bangladesh, more expatriate Bangladeshis and some organisations donated over 1,21,000 pound sterling until November 28, reports UNB.
Abdul Sattar Edhi, a Philanthropist and founder of Edhi International Foundation UK, personally handed over a cheque for £100,000 to Acting High Commissioner Ashraf Uddin on November 21.
One day's pay and allowances of the officials of the Bangladesh High Commission amounting to Tk 1,50,093 have been remitted to the Chief Adviser's Relief and Welfare Fund.
Besides, some individuals and organisations have contributed over 21,000 pound sterling for the cyclone affected people, said a release of Bangladesh High Commission in London.
