UK stocks climb as banks and insurers gain

LONDON, June 4 (Bloomberg): UK stocks rose for the first time in three days, led by a rebound in banks and insurance companies.
Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc, Aviva Plc and Legal & General Plc climbed more than 1.5 per cent. J Sainsbury Plc, the UK's third-largest supermarket company, and Kingfisher Plc advanced as analysts recommended the retailers.
The FTSE 100 Index added 43.2, or 1 per cent, to 4,426.62 at 8:44 a.m. in London as all but 14 shares advanced. The FTSE All- Share Index gained 0.9 per cent, while Ireland's ISEQ Index rose 0.4 per cent.
