Ukraine co to invest $15.473m in Adamjee EPZ

Super Protective Shoes (Pvt) Limited, a Ukraine company, will set up a footwear and shoe manufacturing industry in the Adamjee Export Processing Zone (EPZ).
The 100 per cent foreign-owned company is committed to invest US$ 15.473 million to produce footwear products.
In this connection, an agreement was signed between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and the shoe company at the BEPZA Complex in the city Thursday.
BEPZA Member (Investment Promotion) Prasanta Bhushan Barua and Super Protective Shoes (Pvt) Limited Managing Director Andriy Lavryk signed the lease agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
Also present at the signing ceremony were BEPZA Member (Finance) AKM Mahbubur Rahman, General Manager (Investment Promotion), AZM Azizur Rahman, Manager (Industrial Relations) Md Abdus Sobhan and Assistant Manager (Public Relations) Khadiza Parvin.
The company will use Bangladeshi finished leather as a raw materials for producing military/industrial shoes along with others items.
This will contribute more local value addition and initiate increased export from the local leather industry.
This will be a pioneer investment in BEPZA from the Russian block.
The company will create employment opportunity for 9,271 Bangladeshi including 27 foreign nationals.
