UN peace chief Ladsous in city

Under-secretary-general and head of the Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO) of the United Nations Hervé Ladsous arrived in Dhaka on Tuesday night on a three-day official visit. Foreign Ministry Director General (Economic Affairs Wing) M Riaz Hamidullah received Ladsous at Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) International Airport in Kurmitola in the city at about 8:45pm, said an official at the Foreign Ministry. During his stay, Ladsous will meet President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam and the chiefs of the three services – army, navy and air force, according to UNB.
