UN to observe language day

The United Nations will observe the International Mother Language Day on February 21 every year. The Special Political and Decolonisation Committee
of the 65th session of the
UN General Assembly unanimously passed a resolution to this effect at its fourth committee meeting Thursday. In 1999, UNESCO recognised February 21 as International Mother Language Day.
