UN under secy gen of DPKO due Tuesday

Under Secretary General and Head of the Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO) of the United Nations Herv Ladsous arrives in Dhaka on Tuesday on a three-day official visit. During his visit, Ladsous is expected to call on President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam and chiefs of three services, according to diplomatic sources. Sources said Ladsous will discuss with government leaders, armed forces officials and others concerned about the current global situation and how Bangladesh can more effectively contribute in the UN peacekeeping operations, according to a news agency.
