Under-19 Tigers win in S. Africa
Wednesday, 22 July 2015
The under-19 youth team had been visiting South Africa and played a number of matches there. They have beaten the South African youths in the ODI series emphatically by a margin of 5-2. Playing in South Africa is not an easy proposition as pitches are fast and bouncy unlike our home grounds or any other sub-continental pitches. The young Tigers deserve to be congratulated for winning the series and more so for winning it convincingly.
It is an encouraging piece of news which shows that our cricket is progressing in the right direction. It also shows that we have bright and talented players in the pipeline who will be worthy replacements for Shakib, Tamim and Mashrafe in the future. The man of the series Pinak Ghosh is definitely a bright prospect for Bangladesh and I am sure soon we shall see him in the national line up. The youths have proved their talents by winning the away series and those who dare say that our players are only good on home soil shall now need to review their contention. We are all proud to see the young Tigers' performance in South Africa. We love cricket and every success gives us new hopes for the future. Well done young Tigers, and congratulations to all members of the team!
