Unemployment in France up 0.2pc in Q3

PARIS, Dec 4 (Xinhua): France's jobless rate inched up by 0.2 per cent in the third quarter of 2014, the national statistic agency Insee said on Thursday.
In France's mainland , with 2.841 million out of work, 9.9 per cent of the active population are unemployed, it added.
Taking into account overseas department, jobless rate stood at 10.4 per cent, up from 10.1 per cent reported in the second quarter.
Young people aged from 15 to 24, recorded the highest unemployment rate which stood at 23.7 per cent with 635,000 youths seeking for a job, up by 1 per cent compared to the second quarter of the year.
For the July-September period, jobless rate was 10.1 per cent for men and 9.7 per cent for women, up 0.2 per cent and 0.3 per cent respectively.
