UNFPA Rep meets Speaker

Visiting UNFPA Representative Argentina Matavel Picin met Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury at the latter's office Wednesday, reports BSS
During the meeting, they discussed matters related to bilateral interests.
They also discussed the participation of the Speaker in the (IPCI) International Parliamentarians' Conference on the Implementation of the ICPD (International Conference on Population and Development Programme of Action) held on April 23-25, 2014 in Sweden.
Dr Shirin Sharmin thanked the UNFPA representative for the support to Bangladesh's health sector. The support is for reproductive right and health and maternal and child mortalities, she mentioned.
She also praised the role of UNFPA in checking child and maternal mortalities and early marriage in Bangladesh.
The Speaker expressed the hope that the UNFPA support would continue in the coming days.
