Unilever CEO due tomorrow

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Unilever Plc, Paul Polman, is arrives Dhaka tomorrow (Thursday) on a three day visit to Bangladesh. Paul took over the CEO role on January 01, 2009. Prior to joining Unilever, Paul was in Nestlé S.A. and also worked in leading roles in Procter & Gamble.
During his visit, Paul will be accompanied by Harish Manwani, President of Unilever's Asia, Africa, Central and Eastern Europe (AAC) Region & Nitin Paranjpe, Group Vice President of Unilever South Asia operations.
The CEO of Uniliver has been leading the company in developing sustainable business models that reduce the overall impact on the environment. He believes that companies with a strong social mission will be companies that are more successful in the longer term.
During his visit, Paul will seek to gain an in-depth understanding of consumers and customers of Bangladesh and meet different external stakeholders of Unilever.
Paul serves as President of the Kilimanjaro Blind trust and Chairman of Perkins International Advisory Board. He is a member of the European Round Table, The International Business Council of the World Economic Forum, the Swiss American Chamber of Commerce and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. On the Board of the Consumer Goods Forum, he co-chairs the Board Strategy and also the Sustainability Committees.
Recognized by Investor Magazine as Chief Financial Officer of the year 2007, Paul received the Carl Lidner award from the University of Cincinnati in 2006 and was the WSJ/CNBC European Business Leader of the Year 2003.
