United Airways flights resume

United Airways has started its flight operations on Saturday after a boardroom crisis grounded its flights for the last two days. ‘Regular flights have started from Saturday morning, three domestic and an international flight in all,’ Deputy General Manager (Marketing & Communications) Kamrul Islam said. Services of the private airlines resumes after its founding chairman and managing director (MD) Tasbirul Ahmed Choudhury joined again on Friday. He had resigned last week and was on board again, but this time only as the managing director. Choudhury qut on Monday but the news became public on Tuesday. He was the only one among the 5 directors looking after the business, holding the position of CEO and chairman. After his resignation Md Mahtabur Rahman was appointed chairman and Shahinur Alam became MD. But as the new management failed to manage the company’s day-to-day business and finances, the staff said they could no longer operate flights. The new management had a meeting with Choudhury on Friday after which he was reinstated as the MD of the airlines, according to bdnews24.com.
