United Airways launches direct flights on Dhaka-Dubai route

United Airways has launched direct flights on Dhaka-Dubai route from Thursday.
The maiden flight took off at 6:35pm from Zia International Airport in presence of chairman and managing director of the private airline company Captain Tasbirul Ahmed Choudhury.
The return flight reached Dhaka at 6:00 am on Friday as per scheduled time, the United Airways office said.
Inaugurating the new route Mr Choudhury said the airlines will offer its best air-transportation services at competitive price in all the routes.
"United Airways respects hardworking Bangladeshi migrants, who earn valuable foreign currency for the country. We want to do something special for them," he added.
"We are in the process of buying two more MD-83 aircraft by the end of this year," he said.
Operated with a 155-seat MD-83 aircraft, the Dhaka-Dubai-Dhaka flight has been offered a special one way fare for $250 (excluding taxes and surcharges).
Initially, United Airways will operate to Dubai every Thursday and Saturday departing at 1835hrs, the office source added.
Starting with one Dash 8-100 aircraft, the airlines now owns two Dash 8-100 and one MD-83 through outright purchase and operates daily return flights from Dhaka to Chittagong, Sylhet, Jessore, Cox's Bazar and Kolkata.
It has now added the most significant destination for manpower export that is the Dhaka-Dubai route. The airlines also plans to operate to Kuala Lampur, Kathmandu, Bangkok shortly and doing necessary feasibility study for the Canton & Yangon operation, the official source said.
The private passenger carrier also plans to expand its fleet by adding Boeing 767-300ER by next year to fly to London and other Gulf destinations.
