United Airways (BD) Limited is going to add another ATR-72 aircraft to its fleet soon to consolidate its domestic, regional and international network, said a press release.
On the addition, United Airways Chairman and Managing Director Captain Tasbirul Ahmed Choudhury said, "This new addition of aircraft has increased the fleet strength of the airline to seven aircraft to enhance the operational capability. It has taken a number of steps to control cost. The new ATR-72 aircraft, configured with 66 seats will help us in this regard. This aircraft will primarily be used on upcoming routes between Chittagong-Bangkok and also regional routes such as Dhaka-Kolkata, Chittagong-Kolkata and Dhaka-Kathmandu".
The airline plans to expand its fleet by adding another Airbus-310-325 by June this year to fly on Dhaka-Jeddah-Dhaka and Dhaka-Singapore-Dhaka routes.
