United launches new aircraft on Dhaka-Ctg route from July 17

The United Airways (BD) Limited has planned to introduce a comparatively wide-bodied aircraft, MD-83 in addition to its regular flights by ATR-72 aircraft on Dhaka-Chittagong route from July 17 for attracting more domestic passengers.
The 170-seat jet engine aircraft will shuttle between Dhaka and Chittagong twice everyday from July 17 besides its regular flights operated by the 66-seat ATR-72 aircraft. The airline charges Tk 4,425 for one-way Dhaka-Chittagong trip and Tk 8,850 for a round trip.
The aircraft (MD-83) will leave Dhaka for Chittagong at 7:30 am and 4:00 pm and leave Chittagong for Dhaka at 9:00 am and 5:30 pm everyday from July 17. The ATR-72 aircraft will leave Dhaka for Chittagong at 10:30 am 7:30 pm and leave Chittagong for Dhaka at 3:05 pm and 8:50 pm everyday, said a press release issued by the United Airways.
The airline, the first ever public limited company in aviation sector of Bangladesh, is operating international flights from Dhaka to Jeddah, Dubai, Muscat, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Kathmandu and Kolkata and also from Chittagong to Muscat and Kolkata.
It also operates flights to all major domestic destinations from Dhaka such as Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Sylhet, Jessore, Rajshahi, Saidpur, Barisal and Ishwardi.
Since its inception in 2007, the airline operated about 48,000 flights and carried two million passengers and 5,000 tonnes of cargo to various destinations.
At present the airline runs a fleet of 11 aircraft which include one Dash-8-100, three ATR-72, five MD-83 and two Airbus-310.
