University student, contractor found dead
Saturday, 5 March 2011
Police have recovered bodies of a private university student from Khilkhet rail crossing in the city and a contractor of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company from Ashulia, reports bdnews 24.com.
The dead are Tanzir Hossain Mohon (23), a student of American International University Bangladesh and Rashed Milan alias Kashem (27).
Family members of Mohon alleged that he was murdered and then laid on the railway track.
However, police speculate that Tanzir may have committed suicide.
Railway police sub-inspector Mohammad Nazrul Islam said that a lot of blood was seen at the spot.
"There shouldn't be much blood if he was murdered elsewhere and then laid on the railway," he added.
Meanwhile, sub-inspector Abul Kalam Azad of Ashulia police told the news agency Friday they had arrested garment worker 'Jalil' in connection with the killing of Kashem.
Jalil called Kashem from his house around 8pm Thursday and the latter remained missing since then, the police officer said quoting the victim's family.
Local people found Kashem's body in a drain of neighbouring Sadupara area Friday morning and informed police.
Police recovered the body that bored several marks of injury.
"Motive behind the killing would be clear after interrogating Jalil," the SI said adding, they were also checking Jalil's mobile phone call lists.
