University student hacked to death

Some miscreants hacked a university student to death near Jahangirnagar University (JU) in Savar on Tuesday evening. The dead is Ashraful Alam, 22, hailed from Khulna district. He was a 2nd year student of Daffodil International University (DIU). A friend of Ashraful and some local people said, a group of varsity students, including Ashraful, rented a flat together at Islampur near JU recently and were living there. One of the roommate of Ashraful said two miscreants entered their flat while Ashraful was taking rest in his room. The miscreants stormed into the room and caught Ashraful. They dragged him out of the flat and hacked him with sharp weapons, leaving him injured. Ashraful was rescued and rushed to Enam Medical College Hospital where the doctor declared him dead, according to private TV channels.
