Unknown disease in Narsingdi school: 50 in hospital

NARSINGDI, July 14 (UNB): A teacher and 50 students of a local high school in Raipur Upazila under Narsinghdi district were admitted to Sadar Hospital in the area Saturday morning after being affected by an unknown and mysterious disease.
School sources said, 50 students and teacher Ehtasamul Huq of Adiabad Islamia Multipurpose High School fell unconscious with convulsion at about 8:45 am when they were in classrooms.
The unconscious students were immediately rushed to Sadar Hospital by an ambulance. Later, 20 of them were released after first aid.
Attending doctors could not immediately say what the disease was.
Deputy Commissioner Jillar Rahman and Civil Surgeon Dhirendranath Nag visited the school, 25km away from the district town.
Earlier Thursday, 20 students of the same school became unconscious with the same symptoms in the classrooms. After nursing, they were sent back home.
