Unregistered motorcycle: A social nuisance
Monday, 25 May 2015
Motorcycles roaming in the city without number plates are a common sight. It is unlawful. Even the law-enforcement members are seen driving motorbikes without any number plate and a "police" sticker is glued on their number plate as if they are above law. The law-enforcers must not let any motorised vehicle ply on the road if it doesn't have proper number plate and registration. We know that motorised vehicles are used in criminal acts and if such vehicles are without number plates, it will make things more difficult for the law enforcers to identify the offenders. On the other hand, if some members of law enforcing agencies do not respect their own laws, we can not expect compliance from common people. No one should enjoy impunity from law and everyone is equal in the eye of law. Besides, by driving recklessly, many motor cyclists not only endanger their own lives, but also put other peoples' lives at stake. I am sure, if law is allowed to take its own course, we shall be able to stem the rot.
