Unruly BCL and turmoil at RU
Wednesday, 5 February 2014
People are shocked to see the criminal activities by the Bangladesh Chhatra League activists. Now, the ruling party leaders are trying to shift their responsibility to one of the big opposition party, BNP. Although it is not new, it is ludicrous as the whole country has seen the colourful pictures of the BCL cadres, in the media, creating a reign of terror on Rajshahi University campus.
The ruling people always blame their opposition party for any misconduct of their own party people. But such mentality does not solve any problem; rather intensifies those. It is indeed surprising that the criminals are not yet arrested. Such incidents create a sense of immunity in the minds of the criminals. They think as long as they are with the ruling party, they are free to commit any kind of crime. We have plenty of such examples and those are eating into the morality of our society. I hope the ruling party will realise that saving a few rowdy activists will harm their party image.
