The unsuccessful candidates of the controversial 27th BCS examinations continued their 'fast unto death' strike for the fifth day Wednesday and threatened of self-immolation if the first-phase results are not restored by today (Thursday).
One striker M Mahfuzur Rahman told reporters that they would immolate themselves tomorrow (Friday), if their demand is not met by today.
"We won't go back to our homes until our logical demand is satisfied. ‘We along with our guardians, will be compelled to immolate ourselves Friday if we are not given any specific assurance about fulfillment of our demand by tomorrow", Rahman asserted. At least 15 hunger strikers were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Wednesday, as they felt sick of fasting. Some 20 of the protesters were also injected with saline in their bodies, as they were increasingly felt faint.
