UP chairman, his associate stabbed to death

DINAJPUR, Mar 28 (UNB): Two people, including a UP chairman, were killed in an attack by some unidentified assailants at Rambhadrapur in Nababganj Upazila Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Binodnagar union parishad chairman Sirajul Islam (45) and his associate Enamul Kabir Jewel (32).
Witnesses said that a gang of 8 to 10 armed miscreants intercepted the motorbike of Sirajul Islam when he was returning home from Nababganj along with Jewel at about 11:00 pm.
The assailants stabbed them indiscriminately, leaving Siraj dead on the spot.
Jewel was rushed to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital immediately where he succumbed to his injuries. Police suspected that they might have been killed following previous enmity.
