UP chairman shotand wounded in Khulna

Our CorrespondentKHULNA, Oct 31: Union Parishad Chairman and District Awami League leader was wounded by gunshot by the miscreants at Shenhati Union under Dhigholia Upazila of the district on Sunday. Police and local source said that Abdul Halim Gazi, district Awami League leader and Shenhati UP Chairman was returning home by a motorcycle with one Nuru Gazi. When they reached Goalpara some unidentified miscreants shot Gazi indiscriminately. He was rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital and later shifted to Jessore CMH Hospital on Sunday evening. Nuru Gazi was also admitted to KMCH. On Monday the UP Chairman was shifted to Dhaka for better treatment.
