UP election campaign gains momentum in Narsingdi

NARSINGDI, May 7 (BSS): Unofficial election campaign in 65 union Parishads (UPs) in Narsingdi district, where polling is scheduled to begin from 31 May, has gained momentum.
The election issues are being discussed in every ward of the unions. Probable candidates for the post of chairman and members are visiting every ward of their respective union to get support in the polls. Posters of the candidates are seen on the walls of government and private buildings.
The election of three unions under Polash Upazila will be held on May 31, seven unions of Shibpur Upazila on June 4, eight unions of Belabo Upazila on June 7, and nine unions of Monohardi Upazila on June 11.
The sixteen highland unions of Raipura Upazila will he held on June 14 while eight char unions of Raipura Upazila on June 19. The eight highland unions of Sadar Upazila will be held on June 21 and six char unions of the Upazila on June 25.
The election of the rest six unions of the district- Khiderpur, Char Mandalia and Krishnapur of Monahardi Upazila, Chakrada and Masimpur union of Shibpur Upazila and Charsindur union of Polash Upazila will not be held due to different causes.
