Upazila chairman sent to jail

A court in Jhenidah on Tuesday sent newly-elected chairman of Maheshpur upazila and Jamaat-e-Islami leader Abdul Hai to jail in two cases. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Md Tajul Islam passed the order when Abdul Hai surrendered before his court seeking bail in three cases. The court granted him bail in a case and rejected the bail petitions in the two other cases. The three cases were filed against Abdul Hai for vandalising liberation war sculptures and attacking cops, according to UNB.
