UPDF area commandershot dead in Rangamati

RANGAMATI, Nov 10 (BSS): An area commander of United Peoples Democratic Front (UPDF) was shot dead at Ghilatali Bazar of Zurachhari upazila in the district this morning. Witnesses said, area commander and upazila third commander of UPDF Riken Chakma Prokash Bujye, 43, was gunned down by a group of armed people wearing olive-green dress when he reached at Ghilatali Bazar on his way to Shilchhari area. He was shot at on the head and died on the spot. A villager Samiran Chakma, 36, was also injured critically as he was shot at by the miscreants on his leg. Camp Commander of Jakhma Bazar Major Sayif said army force of Shilchhari camp rescued the body from the spot. Officer-in-Charge of Rangamati Sadar thana Ataur Rahman confirmed the death. President of Upazila Brihattar Pahari Chhatra Parishad Promod Kanti Chakma demanded to arrest the miscreants responsible for the killing.
