Urgent road repair
Sunday, 9 August 2015
An increasing number of people is now living in Bashundhara residential area who have to commute to Gulshan and Banani on all working days. The connecting road that starts from the foot bridge and passes in the front of DOHS (Baridhara) entrance is in a pitiable condition for a quite some time. Only a small part of the road was repaired with carpeting about a year ago, but recent non-stop rains have played havoc and created series of potholes.
As a result, any vehicle negotiating the road has a back-breaking experience on that approximately 0.30 km stretch. School-going children are in discomfort along with their parents. Repairing of this road will be of great help for nearly 5 to 6 thousand people who use the road.
A durable repair work is truly overdue. I strongly feel an exploratory visit and assessment by senior engineers will confirm my view.
