US-Bangladesh Business Council launched

US-Bangladesh Business Council was launched Wednesday by The U.S. Chamber of Commerce. It was inaugurated during the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina govt’s celebration of Bangladesh's 50th Year of Independence and to mark the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, said a statement.
With the presence of Senior Government officials, Business Community, Industry Leaders of U.S. and Bangladesh, the event explored the progress and potential of the economic, trade, commercial and investment relationship between US and Bangladesh.
Representing the business community of Bangladesh, Sheikh Fazle Fahim, President of The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) highlighted the role and economy of Bangladesh in his video record. FBCCI President sought greater engagements through this council in ICT, Pharmaceuticals, Value Chain in textiles, Hardware and Software Equipments, Cyber Security, High Tech Benches, Skills, Startup Ecosystems, Heavy Industries and others. He emphasized on bilateral value chain initiative, utilizing technological and business process advancement of United States companies with production competitive edge of Bangladesh, domestic markets of 160M, Regional Market access of 1.8B and duty free and quota free market of the various parts of the world. He extended best wishes to the US Chamber of Commerce for the initiative of launching US-Bangladesh Business Council.
