US, Canada slammed for sheltering Bangabandhu killers

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has criticised the USA and Canada for giving shelter to some killers of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members. She said the government tried the killers of Bangabandhu and his family members who were assassinated on August 15, 1975. "Some countries like Canada and America are giving shelters to some of the killers. Dalim and Rashid are now in Pakistan," she mentioned. She also mentioned that the government is trying to bring those killers back home. Sheikh Haslian, also the President of Bangladesh Awami League (AL), was speaking at a rally after placing wreaths at the memorial of martyrs of the August 21 grenade attack in front of the party office at Bangabandhu Avenue in Dhaka. At least 13 grenades were lobbed on the AL’s peace rally which was being addressed by the then opposition leader Sheikh Hasina on Audust 21 in 2004, leaving scores dead and hundreds injured. The makeshift memorial was set up in front of the Awami League office where the gruesome attack took place, according to a news agency.
