Wednesday, 20 August 2014

US Embassy in Dhaka on Wednesday announced that Machine Readable Visa (MRV) fee collection will no longer be available at Standard Chartered Bank after August 31. The HSBC will begin collecting MRV fees for visa applications beginning on September 14. The MRV fee receipts will not be available from September 1 to Sept 13, 2014. Applicants without a fee receipt will not be able to schedule an interview until Sept 14. The US Embassy encouraged nonimmigrant visa applicants who plan to travel in Sept to apply and to schedule an appointment at Saimon Overseas by Aug 31. Applicants without immediate travel plans may apply and pay the MRV fee at HSBC beginning Sept 14. Applicants who previously received a visa to the United States that was issued after January 1, 2008, are urged to apply through ‘drop box’ programme, according to UNB.
