US nutrition scientists meet DU VC

A 2-member delegation of US nutrition scientists met Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique at his office on Thursday afternoon. Dr Patrick Webb, Dean for Academic Affairs, Gerald J and Dorothy R Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy of Tufts University, Boston, USA, led the delegation while the other member was Dr Maura Mack, Nutrition Advisor, USAID, and Washington DC, USA. DU Professor of Institute of Nutrition and Food Science Dr Nazma Shaheen and Prof MA Rahim of the Department of Horticulture of Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh, were, among others, present. During the meeting they emphasised on joint collaborations for conducting research and projects in Nutrition and Agriculture and its allied fields in Bangladesh. DU VC Prof Siddique thanked the US nutrition scientists for their supports in implementing joint research and projects in Bangladesh. He hoped that the ongoing collaborations would lead both sides to contribute significantly in the fields of nutrition in regional and global contexts, according to a release.
